The Catholic Daughters of the Americas (CDA) is the largest organization of Catholic Women in the world with membership of approximately 114,000. We are organized in the United States, Guam, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Saipan, The Virgin Island and Puerto Rico.

The organization was formed in 1903 by the Knights of Columbus and has its national office in New York. The Catholic Daughters is the largest affileate of the National Council of Catholic Women (NCCW).

To become a Catholic Daughter, a woman must be at least 19 years old and Catholic.

This organization has programs and activities, which take in a vast scope of work in many fields, beginning at the Parish level and extening itself to all concern of today's Church and Society.

Our motto is "Unity and Charity".

  • Five altars in the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception in Washington D.C.
  • A Chair in American Catholic History at Catholic University, Washington D.C. NATIONAL CHARITABLE PROJECTS
  • Mother Teresa's clinics in India and Tampico Mexico.
  • The North American College in Rome- assistance for seminarians from the United States.
  • Habitat for Humanity-helping people build their own homes by donatin money and work hours.
  • Alzheimer's Safe Return Program-a safety net program for Alzheimer patients and their families.
  • Catholic Relief Services-a program that provides the means for people tosupport them selves and their families.
  • Morality in the Media-visible signs (white ribbon campaign) and financial support for achieving a cleaner media environment.
  • Project Handclasp-donates supplies and clothing transported via U.S. Navy ships to depressed countries.
  • Apostleship of the Sea-provides Spiritual and material services (gifts and treats) to foreign seamen at port locations in the United States.
