Ministers of the Word:
Attached is the Minister of Word schedule for period covering:
Please read the following:
- The Gospel Book will be used to in the procession of Mass
- The Lectionary is put at the Ambo by the first lector before Mass
- Procession after Mass, do not carry out any book
- All Ministers are asked to sign in by fifteen minutes before Mass
At 15 minutes of Mass a replacement will be assigned.
- Respect the time before Mass in the Sacristy as a time of preparation.
It is essential the Sacristy area be in a state of prayer and quietness,
as we prepare for the celebration of Mass.
- If for some reason, you cannot attend the Mass you are scheduled for,
please get a substitute or call me and I can help look.
- Please do not call someone already scheduled. It may put them
in an uncomfortable position and feel they need to attend two Masses.
- Please be aware of dress code as you participate in this ministry (no Levi's/ Jeans).
Ministers of the Word
- Need to prepare to proclaim the Word a few day s be fore Mass
- Announce the Reading, with head up, facing the community.
- Remember to proclaim slowing and loudly. Pause after announcing
the reading and at th end; before the " Word of th e Lord;
Gestures are not necessary.
- Reader 2 to the Ambo "after" the Creed has been recited.
